Role Overview:

As a Quantitative Strategy Intern within the Quant Trading & Research team at Akuna, you will be part of a multidisciplinary group that includes traders, quantitative developers, and researchers aligned with specific trading desks. We are seeking Quantitative Strategy Interns for our 10-week internship program who will contribute significantly to our trading strategies and overall performance.

We are looking for innovative thinkers with strong programming skills who can transform concepts into trading solutions, enhance our innovation process through rapid development of efficient production code, and possess a keen interest in understanding financial markets. Interns will be expected to refine these skills to effectively communicate with traders, quants, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance our trading automation
  • Measure the expected and actual effects of innovations on our trading outcomes
  • Develop and take ownership of automated trading strategies
  • Gain exposure to various trading desks

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Proficient programming skills in Python
  • Willingness to learn the complexities of financial markets
  • Expected graduation by August 2026
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required from the first day of employment
