Electrical Engineer, PE

Chenega Architecture Design Solutions (CADS) is a leading provider of electrical engineering services, and we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer, PE to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Electrical Engineer, PE to provide electrical engineering labor support to various locations within the NAVFAC Washington Area of Responsibility. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in design development, construction management, and cost estimating.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work for code compliance and constructability.
  • Be responsible for the professional quality, technical accuracy, and coordination of all designs, drawings, specifications, and other services.
  • Conduct field observations to verify existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems, incorporating these conditions into the design for renovation and rehabilitation projects.
  • Experience in construction management, scheduling, and cost estimating.
  • Work will be performed 40 hours per week during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of specialized electrical facility schematic design and design development experience, including demonstrated experience with the evaluation of new and existing facilities electrical systems.
  • Professional registration as a Licensed Electrical Engineer, with at least five years of experience under registration.
  • Secret clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of ICC codes, NFPA 70 (NEC), NESC, and DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general office software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specifications development and coordination, using Government-based specification software.
  • Experience conducting field observations to verify existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems, incorporating these conditions into the design for renovation and rehabilitation projects.
  • Experience in construction management, scheduling, and cost estimating.
  • Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership.
  • Ability to review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information (RFI's).
