Job Title: Dental Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at Family Dental Group in Fishkill, New York. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, and positioning them for the dentist.
  • Provide information to patients and staff by answering questions and requests.
  • Deliver and position instruments for the dentist's use, suction, and pass instruments as needed.
  • Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  • Expose and develop radiographic studies, pour, trim, and polish study casts to provide diagnostic information.
  • Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
  • Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:
1 year of experience working as a Dental Assistant is required.
