About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Cardiology team at Ascension Providence. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our physicians and staff to deliver high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
  • Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider, American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted; Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Physician Assistant Board; Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Education: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program; Master's degree preferred.
  • Work Experience: 1 year of experience preferred.
