Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Specialist to join our team at Swedish Medical Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our hospital floors.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of all resilient flooring and carpet throughout the hospital.
  • Performs general Environmental Services duties when needed.
  • Operational knowledge of all floor equipment, including vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, carpet extractors, and imops.
  • Knowledge of floor procedures, including dust mopping, mopping, stripping, and application of floor finish.
  • Operational knowledge of all floor chemicals used in the hospital.
  • Ensures proper signage is placed at the appropriate locations when hazards are present.
  • Responsible for proper handling of all chemicals and following proper infection control policies and PPE use.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of equipment used to maintain and clean floors and can identify mechanical issues to be reported timely and appropriately.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining flooring in patient and non-patient areas, offices, common areas, hallways, and common area restrooms to a high standard.
  • Assumes accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
  • Maintains a daily, weekly, and monthly floor maintenance schedule.
  • Responsible for the care and cleaning of all floor equipment.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in the care and maintenance of resilient floors.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
