About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapist to join our team at SBCS Corporation. As a Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing trauma-informed therapeutic services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Strengths-Based Assessments: Conduct thorough, strengths-based clinical assessments with children and their families to identify their unique needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with children and their families to develop treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals.
  • Facilitate Therapeutic Groups: Facilitate weekly therapeutic groups in each classroom, utilizing evidence-based curricula such as the Incredible Years Curriculum and Kindness Curriculum for Mindfulness.
  • Provide Individual and Family Therapy: Provide individual and/or family therapy to children and their families on a regular basis, addressing their unique needs and concerns.
  • Organize Parent and Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings: Organize and facilitate monthly parent group meetings and Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Provide Case Management and Crisis Intervention: Provide case management, crisis intervention, and safety planning services to clients as needed, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Complete and maintain all Agency and Funder required case files and service documentation, adhering to Agency and Funder standards.
  • Meet Minimum Service Requirements: Meet the minimum number of children served annually, as required by each funding stream.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate with other individuals, professionals, or agencies as necessary to achieve treatment goals, including attending County or collateral requested meetings.
  • Support Preschool Activities: Assist preschool Associates with duties, including supervising/monitoring children during preschool activities, attending to children's appearance and cleanliness, and maintaining a clean preschool environment.
  • Participate in Clinical Supervision and Team Meetings: Participate in clinical supervision, team, and other Program required meetings, ensuring effective collaboration and communication among team members.
  • Adhere to Agency Policies: Adhere to Agency client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Participate in Agency Required Trainings and Activities: Participate in Agency required trainings, staff meetings, and activities, ensuring ongoing professional development and growth.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Related Field: Possess a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, with current BBS registration.
  • Experience Working with Children and Families: Have a minimum of two years of experience in counseling children and families with a history of domestic violence, child abuse, or other forms of trauma.
  • Experience Working with Preschool-Aged Children: Have a minimum of one year of experience working with children ages 3-5 years, preferably in a therapeutic or educational setting.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Patience, Compassion, and Empathy: Demonstrate patience, compassion, and empathy in working with children with special needs and their families.
  • Excellent Organizational and Time Management Skills: Possess excellent organizational and time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
