Key Responsibilities

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the financial function and strategic direction at Siena Catholic Schools of Racine. The CFO collaborates with the President, Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, finance committee, and other key leaders to allocate resources effectively in alignment with strategic and financial objectives. The CFO ensures compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations through proper accounting systems.

Essential duties include:

  • Establishing comprehensive accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting systems that meet the informational needs of leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Analyzing financial reports and trends, providing insights to the President and Boards.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of accounting software to ensure clarity and efficiency.
  • Monitoring staff adherence to accounting practices and financial reporting standards.
Financial Planning and Reporting

The CFO oversees the annual budgeting process, which includes:

  • Developing financial assumptions and projections.
  • Assisting departments with budget preparation and consultations.
  • Coordinating capital expenditures and making recommendations for tuition and salary scales.

Additionally, the CFO prepares and presents financial statements and performance analyses to leadership.

Relationship Management

The CFO works closely with senior management and the Director of Admissions & Financial Aid to set enrollment goals and communicate progress to stakeholders. This role also involves serving as a representative of Siena Catholic Schools of Racine at community events and fostering sustainable financial practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification required.
  • 10+ years of experience in senior accounting roles, with at least 5 years in management.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience in banking and nonprofit sectors is desirable.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.
Work Environment

This position is based in a pleasant office environment, with occasional travel for meetings and events. Flexibility in work hours is expected, including some evenings and weekends.
