Patient Record Coordinator Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Record Coordinator to join our team at Glendive Medical Center. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of patient records, ensuring confidentiality, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of patient records.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all patient protected health information (PHI).
  • Facilitate chart completion by working with ancillary departments and providers.
  • Respond to requests for information and provide customer service to patients and visitors.
  • Take accurate and complete messages as applicable.
  • Operate office equipment and use software to prepare and maintain reports, invoices, letters, medical records, and release of information (ROI) requests.
  • Pull records for intra/interdepartmental needs and file/scans documents timely and accurately.
  • Perform related clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, delivering, and retrieving departmental specific orders or documentation for scanning.
  • Examine orders and documentation for required signatures, diagnoses, times, and/or any other information required depending on document in question.
  • Assist patients in creating their Patient Portal account and create proxy access for minor accounts as necessary.
  • Assist in the management of refused/unsigned orders.
