Job Summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Special Education Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support to our special education teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching and feedback to Intervention Specialists
  • Lead weekly intervention team meetings
  • Maintain special education master rosters and timelines
  • Provide technical guidance and support related to IDEA
  • Attend relevant trainings and conferences
  • Develop and facilitate professional development and training
  • Coordinate with school teams to understand student needs
  • Review and provide feedback on special education documents
  • Assist with complex parent communications
  • Monitor compliance with timelines and data collection
  • Observe and provide feedback to Intervention Specialists
  • Communicate and collaborate with district administration
  • Collaborate with EMIS Coordinator/State Reporting Manager
  • Liaison between schools and related service providers
  • Participate in trainings and meetings held by the ACCEL Special Education team
Requirements
  • Current Ohio Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing special education services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
  • Ability to make sound judgments
  • Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight
  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
