Position Overview:
The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Grants Accounting Manager. This position plays a critical role in managing the financial and compliance aspects associated with grant contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the accounting functions for UHealth/MSOM, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and GAAP standards.
2. Review and confirm the accuracy and timeliness of accounting entries in line with departmental guidelines.
3. Supervise the completion of journal entries and account reconciliations for UHealth/MSOM.
4. Manage the financial closing process and support both internal and external audit activities.
5. Conduct monthly variance analysis of financial statements, providing insightful explanations.
6. Evaluate and enhance internal accounting processes to align with the organization's overall objectives.
7. Ensure the accuracy of financial records, supported by appropriate documentation.
8. Foster team collaboration and performance while promoting individual contributions.
9. Develop staff through performance management, goal setting, training, and maintaining strong relationships.
10. Establish and regularly assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with university policies.
11. Ensure staff training on controls and university policies.
12. Conduct ad hoc analyses and projects as required.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. Relevant education, certifications, and work experience may also be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to foster a collaborative work atmosphere.
- Proficient in preparing financial and accounting records.
- Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data effectively.
- Competence in organizing, interpreting, and communicating accounting data and results clearly.
