Ambulatory Nursing Opportunities

We are seeking an Ambulatory Nurse Resident to join our prestigious 12-month program, designed to help new graduate nurses transition into practice. The program includes mentoring by preceptors and clinical nurse specialists, as well as twice-monthly nurse resident classes with their cohort.

Ambulatory Nursing involves working within an interdisciplinary team during all stages of patient care, from wellness to end-of-life. Responsibilities include telephone triage, medication administration, treatments, testing, patient/family education, and assuring a plan of care for high volumes of patients.

The Post-Baccalaureate Nurse Residency Program at UW Health is part of a national initiative developed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and Vizient. It is one of 40 Nurse Residency Programs accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in the United States.

To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN or BAN), or Master Degree in Nursing (MSN) completed within the previous 12 months. A Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin and Basic Life Support/CPR certification are also required.
