Duke University Hospital Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship

Job Summary:
Duke Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pediatric Heart Center Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellow to join our team. The APP Fellow will work alongside experienced APPs and MDs to provide direct patient care services for newborn congenital heart, surgical, and medically ill pediatric heart center patients from birth to young adults at Duke University Hospital or in the clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical exams, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications, coordinate the care and discharge of patients, and provide direct patient care services.
- Collaborate with cardiology attendings, PCICU attendings, surgeon(s), and/or APPs to assess, diagnose, plan treatment, set priorities, and realistic outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness and cost efficiency of patient care.
- Assess patients for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate emergency interventions in an effort to stabilize the patient until physician support arrives.
Requirements:
- Graduate of ARC accredited Physician Assistant Program or an accredited MSN or DNP Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current unrestricted medical license issued by the NCMB with authorization to practice as a PA or current unrestricted RN license issued or recognized by the NCBON with authorization to practice as a NP.
- BLS certification required.
Salary Range:$120,000 - $180,000 per year
