Respiratory Care Specialist

Job Summary
As a Respiratory Therapy Assistant at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering basic respiratory care procedures and using oxygen delivery systems. You will work under the direct oversight of a preceptor, performing duties with precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with physician orders, departmental policy, and Respiratory Care Guidelines (RT Consult).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, therapists, and technicians, providing complete and accurate reports.
- May perform blood gas analysis and report results.
- Accurately document and charge for respiratory care procedures, providing patient and family education as needed.
- Adhere to infection control and quality initiatives, ensuring the proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an approved school for respiratory care or new/recent graduates awaiting credentialing.
- BLS certification.
Work Environment
This is a non-management role that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work shift is variable, and the location is Greenville Memorial Med Campus.
