Shop Mechanic I

The Shop Mechanic I - Large Equipment is a key member of our team, responsible for performing basic repairs, preventative maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, and deployment of machines in the rental fleet. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment maintenance and repair, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure rental readiness and minimize breakdowns
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Repair and maintain small engines, including fuel systems, oil and air filtration systems, and ignition systems
- Change wheels, tracks, and tires on machines and trailers
- Perform maintenance and repairs on trailers
- Follow shop safety protocol and safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move equipment and materials
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair
- Ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This role requires working in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods and lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
