Position Overview

The Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) division within the Information Technology (IT) Department at Public Service Enterprise Group is dedicated to the continuous operation and support of essential systems that manage the Transmission SCADA Energy Management System (EMS) and Distribution SCADA System (DSCADA). This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability of the electric Transmission and Distribution (T&D) operations.

Key Responsibilities

As the CNI IT Senior Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing and guiding a team of technical professionals, including engineers and IT specialists, to maintain the high availability of mission-critical Operations Technology (OT) systems.
  • Managing compliance activities related to NERC's Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards for the Transmission SCADA EMS.
  • Coordinating maintenance and support contracts for CNI systems, including procurement and review of Statements of Work.
  • Planning and executing lifecycle replacement projects and system upgrades.
  • Developing training programs to enhance departmental skills and knowledge.
  • Representing the organization on the NYISO's Computer and Data Advisory Subcommittee (CDAS).
  • Overseeing back-end operations such as monthly patch management, cybersecurity tasks, and hardware maintenance.
  • Ensuring vendor support is available to minimize system downtime.
  • Participating in off-hours standby coverage as needed.

Compliance and Oversight

In this role, you will also:
  • Act as the Authorized Access Approver for NERC CIP cyber access and physical security perimeters.
  • Maintain and execute compliance documentation related to NERC CIP standards.
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of corporate applications and automated scripts.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 3 years in an Operations Technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of NERC CIP standards and SCADA system operations.
  • Proven leadership abilities and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with System Administration tasks and patch management.

Desired:
  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA.
  • Experience in Electric T&D Operations and NERC CIP compliance activities.
  • Familiarity with various software and networking protocols.
