About the Job

This role is a Certified Nursing Assistant position at the State of South Carolina, Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The salary range for this position is estimated to be $35,360 - $40,560 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Provides physical support to assist consumers in performing daily living activities such as transfers, eating, drinking, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.
  • Reviews consumer's dining plan to ensure the appropriate consistency/diet is served at all meals and ensures consumers take nutritional supplements.
  • Documents vital signs, observes and/or examines consumers to detect symptoms that may require medical attention and documents observations of consumer behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
  • Cleans and sanitizes consumers' rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, changes bed linens, and restocks consumer rooms with personal hygiene items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Knowledge of assistive nursing procedures, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health, and safety practices.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail, accurately communicate and record observations, and work in a team environment.
