Job Opportunity

STR's Video & Image Understanding (VIU) Group is seeking a highly motivated summer intern to contribute to the development and application of deep learning and reinforcement learning techniques for solving complex problems in computer vision and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experienced staff and researchers to adapt, extend, and optimize innovative machine learning algorithms for computer vision and autonomy challenges.
  • Evaluate and optimize machine learning performance on relevant and practical data sets.
  • Contribute to the development of practical and powerful machine learning and computer vision solutions.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in an MS or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong academic record and interest in research.
  • Experience in scientific software development, particularly with Python.
  • Successful track record of applying machine learning algorithms to computer vision or autonomy problems.

This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government.
