About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Director to join our Financial Markets Compliance team at Standard Chartered. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a strong risk management culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preventing, detecting, and mitigating compliance, regulatory, and reputational risk within the public Markets business.
  • Maintain and articulate the standards of conduct required of the firm's businesses as well as the laws, regulations, and policies governing those businesses.
  • Assess new business initiatives and coordinate with stakeholders to support the firm's overall governance framework.
  • Provide functional coverage to aligned businesses (sales and trading) and general compliance for the product areas covered within those businesses.
  • Work closely with departments including Legal, Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Internal Audit.
  • Offer day-to-day Compliance coverage for Broker Dealer business lines and new business initiatives.
  • Advise on compliance with rules, regulations, and regulatory expectations.
  • Evaluate compliance risks and assist in developing compliance action plans through the firm's Compliance Risk Assessment.
  • Represent Compliance in cross-divisional projects supporting regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital markets, financial markets, or securities division.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Macro economics expert.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is $137,808 USD to $206,712 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package. Discretionary variable pay and a range of attractive bank-sponsored benefit programs are available and designed to foster employee overall health and well-being including, but not limited to, a best-in-class 401(k) plan with up to 8% employer match, robust medical plan coverage with employer-funded Health Savings Accounts, inclusive family building benefits, and flexible/hybrid working arrangements for many of our positions subject to role-specific considerations.
