Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Sales Route Specialist in the Northwestern Virginia Region. This role is pivotal in nurturing and sustaining strong customer relationships through direct, face-to-face interactions. While the position may involve physical demands and time-sensitive tasks, it offers immense satisfaction as you build trust with our customers by delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in counter sales and assist customers in-store as needed.
  • Execute route sales responsibilities and provide support to customers at their locations.
  • Assist with inventory management, store upkeep, and product demonstrations as required.
  • Deliver excellent customer service promptly by managing phone inquiries, addressing complaints, processing necessary paperwork, retrieving stock, and aiding in loading customer vehicles.
  • Guide customers on equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for their tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of welding products and self-management skills to ensure superior service delivery.
  • Safely and efficiently load, transport, and unload goods and cylinders containing compressed gases, while also retrieving empty cylinders.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and comply with DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with necessary endorsements.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before and after use according to company standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Two or more years of experience in the welding industry.
  • Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Required: Class B CDL with HazMat, airbrakes, and tanker endorsements.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of industry-related products and experience with compressed gases.
  • Preferred: Background in customer service or sales.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must meet all physical qualifications for truck drivers as per regulations.
  • Strong oral communication skills, ability to work independently, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Exceptional customer service and time-management skills.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to routinely lift weights ranging from 25 to 75 lbs, and occasionally lift over 100 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks including climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and frequent bending.
  • Must operate in a drug-free environment.
