Work Environment:

This role is designated as a Hybrid work schedule, requiring onsite presence three days a week. Expect up to 25% travel within the region.

Position Overview:

Accountable for overseeing the BAS technology platforms across the region to enhance awareness and expertise in HVAC Controls. This includes familiarity with Trane and industry product hardware, system software, and basic HVAC equipment selection criteria. You will support the development of tools aimed at improving efficiencies related to Electronics, Direct Digital Controls, Air Flow Dynamics, Hydronics, Refrigeration Theory, and environmental system knowledge. Additionally, you will lead local Engineering teams in producing quality submittal data and coordinate with our Engineering Center of Excellence for overflow engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and collaborate with other leaders, managers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with external Engineering firms and contractors.
  • Work alongside Trane sales account managers and development teams to support technical expertise and facilitate Engineering approvals to foster growth in the Controls sector.
  • Prepare and deliver engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.
  • Attend customer sites and meetings to support our BAS business and assist sales account managers in securing approvals for Trane technology.
  • Collaborate with Service Team and Intelligence Services training personnel to align with the (One) Trane concept.
  • Participate in Corporate Roundtable councils to stay informed and provide feedback to our District, Field Teams, and Engineering teams on new hardware and software developments.
  • Act as the regional engineering leader and technical subject matter expert.
  • Validate and support technical aspects of estimating for new projects and renovations.
  • Develop detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for the engineering team.
  • Address and resolve any issues raised by the Technical Field and Engineering Team.
  • Propose and oversee estimates, budgets, and timelines for engineering projects.
  • Ensure accuracy of work performed by the Engineering Team through checks and verifications.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm the quality of completed projects.
  • Hire, train, and supervise engineering team members while assessing staffing needs.
  • Initiate and develop strategies to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and communicate control strategies to sales account managers.
  • Provide a monthly report of all activities performed, including sales support, technical and application support, training, and mentoring.
  • Lead the BAS Engineering Team and manage growth and HR activities for this team.
  • Travel required up to 25% within the region.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6-8 years of experience in the HVAC Controls Industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, self-motivated, analytical, and adept at problem-solving, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex topics effectively.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding complex instructions, blueprints, and specification manuals, with the ability to write clear correspondence.
  • Capable of defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with no major or frequent traffic violations.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $94,950-125,500. Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. Please note that this base pay range is based on national averages and actual pay may vary based on factors such as seniority and geographic location.
