Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Security Specialist to join our team at DICK'S Sporting Goods. As a key member of our Loss Prevention team, you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating all Loss Prevention best practices, conducting thorough investigations, and ensuring the physical security of our stores and company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and coordinate all Loss Prevention best practices
  • Conduct thorough investigations and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly exception reports
  • Ensure the physical security of our stores and company assets
  • Train all store associates and managers on company Loss Prevention programs
  • Partner with Distribution Center Loss Prevention Supervisor to resolve issues involving the flow of merchandise and firearms
  • Conduct store Loss Prevention Assessments to ensure compliance with company processes and legal requirements
  • Assist the Store Manager and District Loss Prevention Manager with the annual inventory process
  • Support the Shrink Coach in ensuring compliance of self-assessments
  • Ensure regular review of operational processes for compliance with transfers, claims, RTVs, and known loss reporting
  • Ensure compliance with physical building security, including alarm tests and CCTV issues

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of Loss Prevention experience or related retail experience
  • Interview/Interrogation training and practical skills (Wicklander-Zulawski certification preferred)
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Successfully pass comprehensive criminal background check
  • World-class customer service skills and interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to keep confidences and operate in a direct and truthful manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) certification
  • Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) certification
  • Strong conflict management skills with the ability to work alone in stressful situations
