Key Responsibilities of the Parts Advisor
- Assist all customers, both internal and external, in selecting necessary parts in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
- Retrieve and fulfill orders from inventory.
- Alert the parts manager regarding out-of-stock items that require immediate attention; source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and submit emergency orders as needed.
- Restock assigned inventory on a daily basis.
- Ensure all internal parts requests are billed accurately on service repair orders.
- Process payments from retail customers or obtain credit approvals.
- Issue and monitor requested tools for technicians.
- Record lost sales as required.
- Proactively communicate potential issues with customers, management, and other departments to ensure an optimal customer experience.
- Adhere to company policies and departmental best practices while performing additional duties as assigned.
- Applicants must complete RBM's standard screening process, which includes a full employment application, satisfactory background checks (criminal, credit, and driving records where applicable), in-person interviews, and other inquiries.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with authorization to work in the USA for any employer.
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- Basic communication and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with fundamental mathematical abilities using American units of measure.
- Physical requirements include the ability to remain stationary for extended periods, operate office equipment, and perform repetitive motions. When working at the Parts Counter, physical activities involve constant movement to handle inventory and complete job tasks; recognizing safety concerns; and exerting force to move objects (up to 100 lbs occasionally, 65 lbs frequently, and 25 lbs constantly). Work is conducted in various environments, including inside, outside, and in proximity to moving vehicles and mechanical equipment, with occasional exposure to chemicals and moderate to loud noise levels.
