Job Title: Patient AR Specialist

OneOncology is a pioneering healthcare organization that is revolutionizing cancer care through a patient-centric, physician-driven, and technology-powered model. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient AR Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Patient AR Specialist will play a critical role in resolving patient inquiries and balances in a timely and efficient manner. This position will work closely with the Financial Counselor, Patient Advocates, and Insurance Collectors to ensure that patient balances are resolved effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and work aging reports daily to identify high-priority accounts.
  • Monitor aging reports to make referrals and adjustments as needed.
  • Generate patient statements as required.
  • Communicate with patients to address account balances and provide payment options.
  • Send letters to patients regarding delinquent balances.
  • Telephone and counsel patients on self-pay balances and insurance payment activity.
  • Track and respond to incoming and outbound calls to patients.
  • Set up payment arrangements on accounts as requested.
  • Work with patients to gather financial information to assist in the application process for assistance.
  • Post discounts to uninsured patient accounts daily.
  • Facilitate probate cases for deceased patients with estates.
  • Flag accounts in bankruptcy and adjust system settings to ensure compliance.
  • Provide itemized statements upon request.
  • Collaborate with Insurance Collectors to respond to patient inquiries or disputes regarding balances.
  • Return all messages within 24 hours.
  • Maintain AR inventory and aging reports.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous patient collections experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service or call center experience preferred.
Essential Competencies:
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of billing, HCPCS, CPT, and ICD codes.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
