Bonita House, Inc. is a leading nonprofit mental health agency in Alameda County, committed to providing social rehabilitation services to adults with co-occurring serious mental health and substance use disorders.

The Clinical Program Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing behavioral health clinicians performing assessment and crisis response for individuals in psychiatric and substance-induced distress. This position requires a unique blend of clinical expertise, management skills, and crisis intervention techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the program, implementing procedures to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Direct crisis intervention and management services, including triage oversight.
  • Understand Bonita House's strategic vision and implement it at the treatment services level.
  • Recruit, onboard, discipline, and evaluate personnel, ensuring effective staff management.
  • Meet regularly with staff to provide guidance, coaching, training, and development opportunities.
  • Analyze performance data, financial data, and activity reports to measure productivity and provide feedback to staff.
  • Work 10-hour shifts to maintain immediate availability for consultation, problem-solving, and phone support.
  • Shadow supervisees, providing feedback on service approach and performance.
  • Instruct clinicians to assess suicidality, homicidal intent, violence risk, grave disability, and substance use using appropriate measurements.
  • Obtain Alameda County 5150 Certification to advise clinicians on initiating psychiatric holds.
  • Maintain ethical boundaries with all supervisees, individuals, groups, and families served.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations, communications, and scheduling for line staff.
  • Be available to pick up shifts as needed, maintaining excellent working relationships with Clinical and EMS staff and leadership.
  • Monitor documentation completion by Clinicians.
  • Maintain clinical competency in evidence-based practices, crisis management interventions, and trauma-informed care.
  • Complete administrative projects and other tasks specified by the Director of Crisis Services.
  • Comply with legal and ethical mandates, including Child and Elder Abuse Reporting, HIPAA, PHI, and PII.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college with a major in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
  • Valid License (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology.
  • Experience in rapid screening and assessment, DSM-5 diagnosis, and crisis response in stressful situations.
  • At least two years of Crisis Response experience as a registered or licensed clinician preferred but not required.
  • One year or more of management experience in Crisis Response/Mobile Integrated health desirable.
  • Valid California driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, current auto insurance, and sufficient MVR to obtain and maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies essential.
  • CPR/BLS training within the first 90 days of employment.

Estimated Salary: $115,000 - $120,000 annually, based on location and industry standards.
