Civil or Environmental Project Manager

ARM Group LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil or Environmental Project Manager to join our Solid Waste practice. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with multi-disciplined engineers, scientists, project managers, CAD designers, and staff to deliver exceptional services to our Solid Waste clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the development, design, and permitting of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Develop project timelines, maintain schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, and complete projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop calculations, engineering reports, design drawings, and investigation reports using the principles of soil science, biology, and chemistry to develop solutions to environmental problems.
  • Research code, zoning, ordinances, and other requirements as needed to ensure project compliance.
  • Prepare and review engineering designs and permit applications to acquire approvals from regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop detailed technical proposals and refine and improve internal processes.
  • Assess and mitigate project risks; proactively recognize conditions and problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Monitor project work progress, adhering to the scope of work and communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, client communications, contract documents, etc. and consult with other internal partners as needed.
  • Prepare invoices, track project budgets and projections.
  • Present projects at public meetings/hearings, answering technical questions.
  • Attend client & agency meetings and industry events.
  • Mentor junior staff; participate in hiring of technical staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years of applicable engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration in Maryland.
  • Experience with stormwater management plans, erosion & sediment control design calculations, permitting, and regulatory requirements in Maryland and surrounding states.
  • Excellent communication skills: articulate and confident with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong technical competency and analytical ability with effective teamwork skills.
  • Ambitious and eager to grow with a strong work ethic and self-motivated mentality.
  • Must be able to work independently in a detailed and thorough manner.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and other industry-specific software.
  • Reasonably proficient in MS Office Suite, and MS Project or equivalent project scheduling software.
Preferred Experience:
  • Master's degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from an accredited college or university.
