KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interdepartmental Communication: Effectively communicate with various departments through intercom, phone, fax, and computer systems.
  • Patient Interaction: Provide clear explanations and information to patients and their families regarding procedures, treatment plans, schedules, and costs.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct all mammographic diagnostic procedures for patients, ensuring accuracy and care.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel and perform quality control checks as necessary.
  • Quality Patient Care: Deliver high-quality mammography examinations by selecting appropriate technical factors based on patient diagnosis and age, while adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care and equipment usage, completing all clerical tasks associated with diagnostic procedures.
  • Education: Contribute to the training of departmental staff on quality assurance and advancements in the field.
  • Assistance: Support radiologists and surgeons during mammotome biopsies and needle localization procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred one year of technical experience, with a focus on mammography.
EDUCATION
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Registered by the A.R.R.T. in Radiologic Technology and Mammography.
  • Possession of a valid Radiographic license from the Department of Health.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • ARRT(M) certification is required for ACR accreditation, with the Mammography Registry (AART [M]) to be obtained within one year of employment. Compliance with ACR certification regulations is mandatory.
