We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola, NE. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a caregiver to our residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. You will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Your knowledge of and delivery of age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
  • Document resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications

We are looking for a CNA with:

  • A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
