Job Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring efficient patient management. Reporting to the Director of Patient Services & Financial Assistance, this position encompasses responsibilities such as patient registration, appointment scheduling, and maintaining patient flow. Additionally, the Coordinator is tasked with cash collection and adherence to audit protocols, ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
    • Welcome each client warmly and professionally.
    • Handle incoming calls with a positive demeanor.
    • Maintain accurate records of communications and inquiries.
    • Provide clients with precise information regarding services and providers.
    • Schedule appointments following established protocols.
    • Escalate complex situations to the supervisor as needed.
    • Uphold patient confidentiality and maintain a professional atmosphere.
    • Gather sensitive information discreetly.
    • Foster effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
    • Perform reception duties efficiently and courteously.
  • Accurate Patient Registration:
    • Register new patients and input demographic and insurance details accurately.
    • Verify and update existing patient information during visits.
    • Collect co-payments and fees at check-in.
  • Cash Collection and Audit Compliance:
    • Timely collection and recording of client payments.
    • Verify all transactions at the end of each day and report discrepancies.
    • Generate daily reports in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse patient population.
  • Exhibit patience, flexibility, and understanding.
  • Work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the organization.

  • Background in customer service.
  • Experience in healthcare or medical office settings.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
