Position Overview
Varite is looking for an Information Security Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role will support the Cyber/Information Technology (IT) Department by providing comprehensive expertise and guidance on security compliance frameworks, including NIST RMF and associated security controls.

Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading and executing security assessments across all Information Systems (IS) and Platform IT (PIT). This includes the development, review, preparation, and analysis of compliance documentation.
  • Utilizing established policies, standards, and relevant industry regulations to effectively manage and conduct compliance activities.
  • Performing regular audits and reviews of systems to ensure compliance with current policies and procedures, safeguarding information systems from unauthorized access or damage.
  • Executing security tasks in accordance with applicable regulations and standards, ensuring adherence to the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and NIST Special Publications.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Additional Duties
  • Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing between 1-10 lbs.
  • Work may involve various positions such as walking, standing, sitting, crawling, and kneeling, with potential for frequent climbing.
  • Work environment may include customer interactions, extended hours, and confined spaces.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant IT experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Navy accreditation or Risk Management Framework (RMF); equivalent experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Experience Requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency with DISA STIG, ACAS, HBSS, SIEM Solutions, and VRAM, along with a thorough understanding of industry compliance standards.
Certification Requirements
  • Possession of DOD 8570.1M IAM I certification is required.
