Position Overview
The Educational Development Coach will be an experienced educator who dedicates a significant portion of their time to classroom instruction while also engaging in various responsibilities that leverage their expertise. This role encompasses delivering exemplary teaching, conducting demonstration lessons, observing peers, and facilitating professional development within the school environment. The Educational Development Coach is expected to possess extensive knowledge in effective teaching practices that enhance student achievement, engagement, and overall wellbeing.
The primary objective of this role is to cultivate a culture of excellence in teaching and learning throughout the educational institution.
Key Responsibilities
Recognizing the critical role of outstanding practice in enhancing student learning outcomes, the main responsibilities of the Educational Development Coach may include, but are not limited to:
- Exhibiting advanced proficiency in instructional methodologies
- Demonstrating superior classroom practices through model lessons
- Collaborating with school leadership to establish a unified vision of effective teaching
- Leading the execution of comprehensive school improvement initiatives related to curriculum design and implementation
- Facilitating professional learning opportunities, including the development of observation and feedback protocols for teacher collaboration
- Showcasing effective learning strategies and assisting educators in utilizing feedback to enhance their practice
- Providing data-driven feedback to teaching staff to guide their professional growth
- Offering expert guidance on strategies that will shape individual and collective professional learning
- Mentoring and supervising student teachers while providing coaching to fellow educators
- Utilizing student performance data to inform instructional strategies
- Promoting school-wide professional learning frameworks through collaborative learning communities
- Engaging in reflective practice by seeking feedback from colleagues to continuously improve teaching methods
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be currently registered or eligible for registration with the relevant teaching authority and possess qualifications or demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum areas.
