Software Engineer IV, Infrastructure, Cloud Computing

As a software engineer at Google, you will play a critical role in developing the next-generation technologies that transform how billions of users interact with information and each other. Our products require handling vast amounts of data, extending far beyond web search. We're seeking engineers who bring innovative ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions for our cloud infrastructure.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and improve overall system performance.
- Triage and debug product or system issues, analyzing sources and impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and/or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis, and resolution, and software test engineering.
As a software engineer at Google, you will have the opportunity to work on a specific project critical to our needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our business grows and evolves. We offer a competitive salary range of $136,000-$200,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
