As a senior software engineer on our cloud infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the underlying systems that power Google's products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities- Design and develop large-scale cloud infrastructure systems, including compute, storage, and networking components.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to identify and prioritize infrastructure requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code that adheres to Google's coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure that code meets the highest standards of quality and maintainability.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and educational content to help other engineers understand and use our infrastructure systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, working closely with other teams to identify and fix problems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- 1+ year of experience in software design and architecture, with a focus on cloud-based systems.
- Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1+ year of experience in a technical leadership role, with a focus on mentoring and guiding other engineers.
- Experience developing accessible technologies, with a focus on ensuring that our infrastructure systems are usable by people with disabilities.
