Position Summary:
The Culinary Support Specialist is responsible for various kitchen operations, including but not limited to, dish cleaning, general sanitation tasks, daily meal service, and assisting other culinary staff with food preparation and storage of supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- This role is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands, and mental competencies of this position require the employee to maintain a constant state of alertness while ensuring safety.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware, and operate dishwashing machinery. Utilize all cleaning agents and materials as directed, handling them safely.
- Organize and store clean cookware, dishes, and utensils.
- Sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen areas in accordance with established cleaning protocols and safety precautions.
- Take and deliver food and beverage orders efficiently.
- Ensure resident satisfaction through attentive service.
- Maintain quality standards and service excellence.
- Deliver meals to residents who are unable to dine in the communal dining area.
- Keep assigned work areas safe and sanitary.
- Adhere to personal hygiene standards and comply with the department's dress code.
- Follow safety protocols; report any injuries or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Assist with basic kitchen preparations and/or serving as needed.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors to foster a welcoming environment.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor to enhance resident care.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Must fulfill all healthcare requirements, including a Tuberculosis skin test.
- Must maintain positive standing with all healthcare regulatory agencies.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
This position is highly active and requires constant standing/walking, repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling, and occasional carrying. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with the frequency of tasks varying.
