Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Technical Assistant to join our team at Baystate Health. As a Radiology Technical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our radiology team in exam rooms and with guided interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist radiologic technologists, residents, and radiology attendings in exam rooms and with guided interventional procedures.
  • Call patients from the waiting room into the changing area and prepare/explain procedures to patients according to departmental and hospital procedure.
  • Perform patient care and clerical duties, including managing patient experience, maintaining patient confidentiality, and observing health and safety requirements.
  • Assist patients as needed to bathroom or with urinal or bedpan, and participate in department and team projects as requested.
  • Skilled in handling transport, lifting, sliding, oxygen tanks, and IV poles as needed, and proficient in the use of computer software such as Teletracking, Safety and Injury Reporting (SRS), Cerner, Radnet, Synapse, etc.
  • Assist with supplies and inventory, and maintain yearly In-service validations and attend departmental staff meetings.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from AHA required within 30 days of hire.
Requirements
  • GED or HiSET required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from AHA required within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous patient care experience and medical terminology knowledge preferred.
