Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in pipefitting for Refrigeration/HVAC construction projects
  • Ability to inspect systems for quality installation and direct repairs as needed
  • Ability to train less experienced pipefitters in best practices
  • Ability to leak-check and pump down systems
  • Ability to use a multimeter and read wiring diagrams and blueprints
  • Ability to obtain measurements and site details for change orders or new proposals
  • Effective communication skills via email, text, phone, and in front of management and customers
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours, as required
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Responsibilities
  • Laying out, fabricating, assembling, and installing piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for refrigeration and HVAC systems
  • Removing and replacing refrigeration and HVAC piping systems during remodeling projects
  • Selecting pipe and related materials according to plans and drawings, job specifications, and system type
  • Collaborating with other trades to plan installation sequences and avoid obstructions
  • Threading and bending pipe by hand or with a pipe bending machine
  • Assembling and joining piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
  • Securing pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers
  • Testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges
  • Completing documentation for quality control
  • Communicating with customers, supply houses, and office personnel regarding equipment and construction status
  • Maintaining company vehicles through regular preventive maintenance programs
