Position Overview:
The Senior Process Engineer will serve as a critical link between our Global Platforms Product Development team and the New Bern manufacturing facility, focusing on the evolution and implementation of assembly processes.


Key Responsibilities:


- Collaborate with the Global Platforms team to spearhead the evolution and modification of existing assembly process technologies, ensuring alignment with global platform initiatives.
- Drive the development of core assembly process competencies and evaluation criteria, while supporting the formulation of a 3-5 year technology advancement strategy.
- Conduct benchmarking against similar industries and technologies to identify best practices and areas for enhancement, and formulate appropriate response strategies.
- Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives within manufacturing facilities to facilitate equipment and process modifications.

- Act as the primary liaison between global platforms and the New Bern assembly facility regarding Design for Assembly (DFA) and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
- Participate in Product Design reviews, representing Assembly Process Engineering effectively.

- Ensure adherence to established budgets and timelines by coordinating activities between global platforms and the New Bern assembly facility.
- Oversee capital requests for platform projects, support business case development, and ensure precise capacity analyses while assisting in the approval of cost-saving projections.

- Develop and implement procedures and documentation to support the release of machinery and equipment, providing training to affected personnel.
- Serve as the primary representative for new platform equipment at the assembly facility, overseeing vendor selection, design, construction, approval, testing requirements, and installation processes.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-volume production assembly (both manual and automated); prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Proven experience in the development, validation, and optimization of significant capital projects.
- Familiarity with change management techniques is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Project, ERP systems, MES systems, AutoCAD, and/or Pro-E.
- Demonstrated training and experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable in standard Industrial and Systems Engineering tools for evaluating labor and associated costs.
- Understanding of part prints and equipment layouts is essential.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills utilizing formal problem-solving methodologies.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience is required.
- Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively support the manufacturing team and act as a business partner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be collaborative and capable of working effectively within a team.
