Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Research Manager/Director for Transport Networks and Components, you will spearhead Omdia's research initiatives in Coherent Optics. This role involves engaging with vendors, service providers, and industry standards organizations to deliver comprehensive quantitative and qualitative research, including market share analysis, forecasts, and insightful presentations.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the authority on Coherent Optics, demonstrating a profound understanding of the Optical Network and Coherent Optic market.
  • Client Advisory: Act as a trusted consultant for our clientele regarding Coherent Optics.
  • Data Development: Utilize both primary and secondary research to establish credible market data, ensuring comprehensive coverage of market participants.
  • Market Forecasting: Generate market projections through thorough research, utilizing credible sources to substantiate forecasts.
  • Data Analysis: Derive meaningful insights from business data, recognizing trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Content Creation: Produce qualitative analyses that support and justify data, focusing on technological impacts and market trends.
  • Public Speaking: Present research findings at industry conferences and events.
  • Research Scoping: Keep research relevant by understanding customer inquiries and enhancing research offerings.
  • Thought Leadership: Generate written insights and press materials to bolster research outputs and present at webinars.
  • Sales Collaboration: Work alongside the sales team to generate leads and support client renewals.
  • Event Collaboration: Partner with the events team to elevate Omdia's presence and develop new research propositions based on insights gathered at events.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of Optical Components and Coherent Optics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; an MBA is advantageous.
  • Proven experience with a telecommunications network vendor, service provider, or market research organization.
  • Familiarity with Cloud/Com knowledge is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and customer-focused.
