POSITION SUMMARY:


The Food Service Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily activities at military dining facilities, ensuring that all food service operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves supporting management in supervising key functions and personnel to meet business objectives.

The responsibilities outlined below are essential to the position, although additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs and client specifications.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively supervises daily operations to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensures that all team members, subcontractors, and vendors adhere to contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with government representatives, possessing the authority to make decisions regarding contract-related matters.
  • Maintains Quality Control and Safety Programs in line with contract stipulations and applicable regulations.
  • Manages the contract budget and reviews operational processes for enhanced efficiency.
  • Oversees personnel scheduling, time card approvals, and inventory management of supplies and equipment.
  • Sets clear expectations for employees, conducts performance reviews, and implements process improvement strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Facilitates Employee Performance Evaluations through the payroll system within designated timeframes.
  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols and provides training on equipment operation and supply usage.
  • Analyzes and maintains compliance with AbilityOne Ratio requirements through effective scheduling of employee hours.
  • Completes Limitation & Accommodation Quarterly Reports for AbilityOne employees.
  • Coordinates the AbilityOne interview process and secures necessary medical documentation.
  • Generates reports, inspections, and logs as mandated by the contract.
  • Provides essential information and specifications for preparing estimates for contract modifications.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Maintains required security clearances and adheres to Drug-Free Workplace policies.
  • Implements Operations Security (OPSEC) procedures.
  • Manages the Property Control Plan for Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Implements a comprehensive safety and health program that meets all relevant safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintains a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) as per established guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Required

  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour General Industry course or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in delegation and team development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational capabilities.
  • Solid business acumen.
  • Basic understanding of employment laws and wage regulations.
  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a leadership role within a multi-location environment.

  • Experience with labor unions and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to delegate and communicate effectively.
  • Proven experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Ambitious and results-driven.
  • Effective time management skills and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Preferred experience with Affirmative Action Plans and AbilityOne Program.
  • Experience working with community agencies and individuals with disabilities is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


This position requires prolonged standing and working in a commercial kitchen environment.
