We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our cardiac surgery program, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with our team of cardiac surgeons, and contributing to the development of our program.
Responsibilities- Assist in Cardiac Surgical Procedures: You will assist our cardiac surgeons in a variety of surgical procedures, including first assisting, endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting, and covering floor and ICU patients.
- Provide Patient Care: You will provide direct patient care services, including assessing patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and developing and implementing treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the Medical Team: You will work closely with our cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: You will contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- NYS Licensure: You must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
- DEA Certification: You must be certified to prescribe medications under the DEA.
- ACLS/BLS Certification: You must be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support.
- Experience in Cardiac Surgery: You must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in cardiac surgery or a related field.
- Graduation from an Accredited Program: You must have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Board Certification: You must be board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
