Recruit Up, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our client, a rapidly growing national utility contractor.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including management experience in construction, industrial services, or utility services.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the annual budgeting process, developing and maintaining rolling forecasts, and monitoring budget performance. They will also ensure strong internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of leadership and team-building abilities. They will be proficient in accounting software systems, such as Sage 300 and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis, comparing actual results with forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide regular financial updates to senior management, highlighting key trends and areas of concern.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and timely billing in accordance with the contract.
  • Lead cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collections, payroll, and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including management experience in construction, industrial services, or utility services.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
