Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager/Assistant Department Manager to lead our Traffic Planning Discipline in our New Braunfels, TX office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and directing the work efforts of assigned staff and projects, as well as performing traffic evaluations and design tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare traffic impact studies, including data collection and intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software.
  • Attend and present at municipal planning, zoning, and other board meetings.
  • Prepare concept drawings based on client objectives and due diligence conclusions.
  • Review traffic studies and roadway, intersection, and traffic signal designs.
  • Prepare calculations, plans, specifications, technical papers, and permit applications for private and public infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates based on approved plan drawings.
  • Manage, direct, and supervise the work efforts of assigned staff and projects.
  • Prepare effective work plans, schedules, and man-hour budgets.
  • Perform client management duties and participate in business development efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering experience.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in TX or ability to obtain license within 3 months.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification or other related certifications.
  • Proficient technical skills in design of highway, intersection, and signal improvement design plans.
  • Knowledge of traffic analysis procedures, including trip generation computation, Synchro software, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Previous knowledge/experience with TXDOT and area counties/municipalities design regulations and permit requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
