At Volt, we are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Project Lead to oversee the development and execution of diverse projects focused on non-nuclear, carbon-free generation, energy storage, and geothermal initiatives.

As a key member of our team, you will provide innovative resource solutions tailored to public power utilities, steering project plans from initial feasibility studies through to construction completion. Projects range widely in scope, with development and construction budgets spanning from a few million dollars for smaller renewable initiatives to several hundred million for substantial conventional projects.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in project management, who can identify needs and opportunities, prepare proposals and term sheets, form and lead project teams, hire and manage outside technical and environmental consultants, prepare project development and business plans, strategic plans and budgets, including project pro-formas, and obtain management, board and regulatory approvals.

You will also be responsible for managing the procurement of major equipment and construction services, arranging project financing, coordinating with Operations and Maintenance (O&M)/Professional Services for operating cost projections and project transition plans and checklists, and negotiating term sheets, PPA's and other development agreements with business sector manager support.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment. Preferably, they will have experience in non-carbon emitting project development, such as wind development/repowering, solar development, or battery storage.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $45 to $80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
