Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. The successful candidate will work with middle school and high school students, providing individualized support and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Teacher of the Handicapped certification or Teacher of Mathematics with Teacher of Students with Disabilities (ToSD) certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including In-class Resource (ICR), Pull-out Resource (POR), and Self-Contained (SC) classrooms.
  • Teach 6 periods a day in middle school and high school.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly.
  • Use data and anecdotal notes to provide evidence of student growth and guide differentiated and targeted instruction.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving, communication, organization, planning, record-keeping, and human relation skills.
  • Work effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators, and others.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Certifications:

  • State certification as a Special Education Teacher in New Jersey.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
