Surgical Unit Registered Nurse

The RN Clinical Nurse is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Unit team, working nights and providing care to patients with a range of medical conditions.
Core Responsibilities- Perform the Nursing Process, using evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to provide individualized care and coordinate care through effective partnerships.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity and partnering with patients and significant others to set and achieve goals.
- Practice using current clinical practice standards and coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care.
- Participate in teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible and promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, ensuring a current and future qualified workforce and modeling the professional practice of nursing.
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing, participating in activities such as value analysis and evaluating patient care products.
- Uphold all healthcare system/organizational policies and procedures, clinical competencies, and professional association standards, ensuring goals such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems' safety absolutes.
Associate's Degree in nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Reg Nurse (Single State) and RN - Multi-state Compact required. Basic Life Support certification required.
Additional Licenses and CertificationsAdditional licenses and certifications may be required.
Required Minimum ExperienceLess than 1 year of direct patient care experience required. Completion of accredited/ approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours preferred.
