Financial Services Operations Manager

Municipal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronic Funds Transfer Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily execution of electronic payment channels, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, NACHA rules and guidelines, as well as federal and state agency regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electronic Payment Channels: Ensure seamless execution of electronic payment channels, including funds transfers, incoming ACH files, ACH originations, in-clearing of on-us checks, incoming return of deposited items, check adjustments, selected employee group payroll, PFP insurances, and reconciliations of the ACH, Zelle, and check adjustment processes.
- ACH Program Management: Manage all processes relating to the ACH program to ensure compliance with internal procedures, NACHA rules and guidelines, as well as federal and state agency regulations.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain industry knowledge of ACH, share draft, and other processes related to payment systems, including NACHA operating rules and guidelines.
- Confidentiality: Maintain sensitive and confidential information; exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with highly sensitive, complex, and confidential issues and situations.
- Audit Preparation: Provides requested information in preparation for and in response to department audits.
- Deadlines and Reconciliations: Ensures daily deadlines are met by identifying out-of-balance conditions and other exceptions to processing, including daily GL reconciliations and settlement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assures Regulation D, CC, and E compliance and monitors any exceptions.
- Team Leadership: Serve on committees and partner across the organization to implement improvements in processes.
- Remote Team Management: Manage teams in a hybrid/remote environment, ensuring frequent touchpoints for inclusivity and cohesion.
- Service Level Agreements: Ensures EFT team members adhere to established service level agreements.
- Department Supervision: Direct, train, develop, motivate, hire, and discipline department personnel; administer performance goal setting/achievement and recommend appropriate personnel action.
- Process Analysis: Keeps management informed of changes/issues affecting team and/or operations.
- Operations Oversight: Analyze and evaluate existing processes; ensure operations and procedural documentation are up-to-date.
- Implementation: Oversee implementation of new processes and procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations.
- Knowledge Gap Identification: Identify knowledge and skill gaps and actively work to create a multi-skilled team.
- Training Opportunities: Provide training and continuous learning opportunities as product and member needs evolve.
- Special Projects: Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent working experience.
- NACHA Certification: NACHA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum five years' experience working in a financial services environment.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum three years' experience in a management or leadership role.
