About the Role

MUSC Health Charleston is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to ensure they are safe for patient use.
  • Decontaminate and assemble medical instruments and equipment to prepare them for use.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure that all medical instruments and equipment are properly processed and sterilized.
  • Maintain accurate records of instrument and equipment processing and sterilization.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that our sterile processing department meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and decontamination procedures and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a level 1 trauma environment.
  • Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases.
Work Schedule

This is a 3x12 shift position, working 7p-7:30a, weekends, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holiday rotation. Floating to sister facilities may be required.
