We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team at Steuben Churchpeople Against Arbor Housing & Dev. As a key member of our residential services program, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with mental health needs in their daily lives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide person-centered support to residents, promoting their health, safety, and well-being.
- Coach and encourage residents to develop daily living skills, such as personal hygiene, cooking, and laundry.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
- Collaborate with residents to create and implement their Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Support residents in developing their personal choices and goals, promoting community integration and independence.
- Monitor medications in collaboration with residents' physicians and therapists.
- Develop and facilitate resident education and training materials.
- Ensure fire safety and maintain a safe living environment.
- Attend position-specific trainings and adhere to program policies and procedures.
- Report to work on time and work scheduled shifts, except in cases of emergency.
- Stay at the work site until a replacement arrives, ensuring the program is never left unstaffed.
- Adhere to program policies and procedures, including employee-client boundary policies.
- Complete clear, timely documentation.
- Support a non-discrimination/anti-harassment/sexual harassment-free work environment.
- Bending, stretching, and standing for long periods.
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling 25-50 pounds.
- Remaining awake and alert at all times.
Please note that critical features of this job are subject to change due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.
Available shifts include Tuesday through Friday 1:30pm to 10pm and Sunday 1:30pm to 10pm, as well as Sunday through Thursday 1:30pm to 10pm.
