Job Summary

Daniels Tire Service is a family-owned and operated business seeking to add several team members to our Retread Plant. This is an assembly line, production-driven work process in a tire retread plant. We're looking for individuals who work well with their hands and are looking to work as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
  • Organize work area, ensuring easy ergonomic movement to complete the installation of the tread on a tire casing.
  • Remove tire casing from the monorail with tire lift and place it on the builder machine.
  • Set up the correct tread design near the machine for easy access. Apply tread from roll as the tire rotates.
  • When the machine stops automatically, cut with a rotary tread knife. Place the two ends together and staple. Place the automatic stitcher down to push out air.
  • Remove the treaded casing from the machine, placing it on the j-hook and onto the overhead rail with the hoist.
  • Take the next casing off the overhead rail and repeat the tread installation process.
  • Take care not to contaminate the tread base area.
  • Keep the work area clear of wrappings, loose staples, and too many packages of tread.
  • List any safety hazards observed and point them out to the Plant Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with any other duties that may be assigned.
  • Maintain the shop area, with the help of shop employees, in a clean and organized condition.
  • Eliminate, when possible, any safety hazards discovered in daily walk-throughs.
  • Be a reliable and dedicated worker who can be depended on.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year or tire service or tire retread experience is preferred but not required.
  • MUST HAVE - eligibility to work in the United States, as we participate in the E-VERIFY program.
  • California Driver's License, Class C - preferred but not required.
Desirable Qualities
  • Good Judgment: Knows when to stand tough and when to be flexible. Sees the big picture and the ramifications of one's actions.
  • Self-Motivated: Gets the job done with a minimum of supervision. Collaborates with others to address issues that arise.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Can handle what comes up; finds the answers and makes sure the situation is taken care of correctly. Avoids time wasters.
