Position Summary:

The Imaging Services Assistant will operate under the general guidance of the Imaging Director, executing assigned responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Ashe Memorial Hospital (AMH) to ensure the effective operation of the imaging department.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of imaging modalities is advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Professionally manage and screen incoming calls, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate personnel, and taking messages as necessary.
  2. Greet patients warmly, assisting them in a manner that prioritizes their needs.
  3. Prepare daily schedules and verify orders for all imaging modalities.
  4. Assist in escorting patients to and from the waiting area to the Imaging Department.
  5. Facilitate the transfer of images through PowerShare to other healthcare facilities.
  6. Process and fulfill CryptoChart requests efficiently.
  7. Prepare CDs as required.
  8. Maintain a general understanding of imaging operations and procedures.
  9. Organize and complete assigned tasks effectively.
  10. Ensure timely and accurate completion of written communications.
  11. Locate, fax, or distribute requested information while upholding the confidentiality of medical records.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Vaccination Requirement: Candidates must be willing to receive all necessary vaccinations (e.g., flu shot). All new hires must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment unless an exemption has been requested and granted. Candidates will be informed of this policy prior to employment commencement.
