Job Summary

This is a full-time, faculty term appointment within the Emergency Medical Technology department at The Tennessee Board of Regents institution. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in all aspects of pre-hospital care, capable of applying techniques and modalities of adult education, and of managing resources and resource personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Deliver didactic material, demonstrate psychomotor skills, verify skill proficiency, and provide continued faculty development to meet the needs of the institution.
  • Classroom and Lab Instruction: Coordinate, plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom/lab instruction and related activities.
  • Student Support: Provide instructional counseling, academic advising, and serve on various committees.
  • Professional Development: Participate in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree at an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current unencumbered Tennessee Paramedic License with Instructor/Coordinator endorsement.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Technical Skills: General experience using various computer software and applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment.
  • Credentials: Current instructor credentials in Basic Life Support, and provider credentials in advanced trauma, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support.
  • Education Administration: Minimum of two (2) years EMS education administration or greater than 300 hours of EMS instruction.
  • Training Methods: Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and technology.
